Synopsis:

Set in early 20th Century Mexico the story tells of a denied love, prevented by family tradition and a mother's stern attitude against breaking it. Tita loves Pedro but they cannot be married as Tita is the youngest of three daughters and so ancestral laws demand she care for her mother until her death. Pedro instead marries Rosaura, one of Tita's sister, so he can be closer to the woman he really loves.
