Synopsis:

The outcome of the battle of Gaudalcanal during World War II is pivotal to the Japanese's influence into the pacific. A group of young soldiers are sent to relieve a troop of weary marines and are immersed in a gruesome fight for an airfield that controls a 1000 mile radius, an opportunity to showcase the chaos and terror of war and investigate the philosophical aspects of humanity.
